This is a totally unique solution for the camping backpacker who doesn’t want to sacrifice their modern luxuries completely on their outdoor adventure. We love gadgets that can kill two birds with one stone and this can certainly do that. If you plan to bring a cooking pot with you travelling then why not bring a cooking pot that can charge any usb device you hae bought with you.PowerPot_components

The PowerPot is a thermoelectric generator which converts heat energy into power. All that you have to do is fill the gadget with water and plug in your device. The good thing about this is that you don’t necesserily have to use gas to heat the water. You can use a campfire source that is safe for the gadget to sit on and there you go it essentially free electricity. The manufacturer claims to charge as fast as any standard wall outlet and from our research people are verifying this is the case. It almost sounds too good to be true.

The main downside we can see as it may be something that won’t be absolutely essential for all travellers. For example, a city hopping digital nomad type isn’t going to want to create a campfire in the middle of Saigon because they are running at 1% on their iPhone. However, the guys who go trekking and are  serious about camping this could be a fantastic investment.PowerPot_wire
